Introducing CAPA's Official Bloggers & Vloggers for Fall 2021

We’re very excited to introduce and welcome our team of official bloggers and vloggers for fall 2021!

Each student will receive a grant accompanied by an explorer fund while they are abroad to help them generate their stories here on CAPA World. From pre-departure thoughts through their reflection upon their return home, we will watch the stories of these students unfold as they learn about their host country, explore and discover the real city beyond stereotypes and expectations, interact with locals, focus on their academics, and complete internships.

So, who are they and where are they going?

Introducing Bloggers and Vloggers (2)



Alexis MillerAlexis is a marketing student from Ursinus College. She will be studying abroad in Florence, Italy this fall. She loves playing softball, working out, and traveling. She is excited explore Italy and develop a global mindset through her CAPA courses and her travels. Alexis hopes to travel around Italy and find some hidden gems. She also plans to write about food while abroad. She is eager to discover and share more about Italian culture and her adventures through her blog posts!

Emma BaldwinAndrea, who often goes by her nickname, Andy, is a theatre student at James Madison University. She is really excited for her CAPA internship with Synergy, through which she'll have the opportunity to work on theatre projects with prisoners, ex-prisoners, and others who are a part of the criminal justice system. Through her internship, she hopes to expand her knowledge on leading dialogue and guiding conversations. This will be her first time working alongside those who are a part of the criminal justice system, and she aims to take this opportunity to learn directly from them. She wants to hear their voices on what it is that they are seeking/having trouble with, and what their goals are during the development of the projects/creations they’ll be working on. Andrea also aims to create safe spaces, where trust is established, and she'll find ways to help, motivate, and uplift; all while recognizing the privilege she holds.

James NightengaleNatalie is a musical theatre & arts management major from Rider University. She is really looking forward to traveling and experiencing a new culture after a long hiatus of staying home. While in London, she hopes to develop a better understanding of the theatre industry in England and its differences from the American system. Natalie hopes to make many connections with the people around her and to learn from any creative or administrative experience they have. Through her vlogs, she plans to share hidden gems in London, as well as tips for future CAPA London students.

Annabel ThorpeJulia is a communication studies major at Hollins University. She will be interning at Made in Shoreditch Magazine in London this fall. She loves photography, traveling, and writing, and is very excited to experience life in London! During her CAPA program, she hopes to learn more about other cultures, experience life in London to the fullest, and connect with new people. You can look forward to her photo-filled blogs on travel, culture, and many other topics. Stay tuned!

Annabel ThorpeChi is a marketing and communication studies student at Augustana College. She will be interning at Bulbshare in London this semester. She is excited to explore London, take tons of photos, try new food, and build connections with people while abroad. Through her blogs and vlogs, you can look forward to hearing about her experience studying abroad as an international student from Vietnam. She plans to reflect on cultural differences, document her travels around the city, and share updates on her classes and internship.
