University: University of Colorado Boulder
Major: Strategic Communications

Study Abroad Location: Florence, Italy

What are you most excited for during your study abroad semester?
I am most excited to finally get to travel through Europe. I have never been and I am so excited to not only visit, but live there for a few months. I am excited about the people I am going to meet and the things I am going to discover. I love art and can’t wait to visit some museums and see all the beautiful architecture!

What are three of your hobbies and interests?
I love fashion so much. I want to work in the fashion industry and my dream would be to work at Vogue. I also love spending my days at coffee shops, thrifting, shopping, and exploring. Lastly, I love to just be with my friends and experience new things together.

What’s one personal goal you hope to achieve while abroad?
I hope to gain new connections, possibly in the fashion world, so I can take the knowledge that I learn and use it for when I am finding a job. I hope to meet all kinds of new people that are from America but also Europe. I hope to also learn some more Italian because my background and heritage is all Italian!

What’s one professional goal you hope to achieve during your CAPA program?
I hope to network while in Florence. I think it is a great way to be able to branch out and possibly meet new people that are also traveling abroad at the same time as I am. I think being able to professionally connect with others for the future would help me succeed a lot and would be a great way to branch out!

What can we look forward to seeing in your blogs?
My audience can look forward to hearing about my time studying abroad and taking classes. I will focus on tips and tricks on how to stay focused in school while still having fun and being safe. I also plan to share tips on what to wear/what to pack when studying abroad, as well as things to do around the CAPA Florence Center, including restaurants and places to visit.

Anything else you'd like to say to people reading for the first time?
I am just as new to this concept of studying abroad as anyone that will be viewing my blogs that want to travel abroad in the future, so we will be figuring this out together! I would think it's nice for them to know that I am not a “professional” at this experience and that I am taking everything one day at a time as well. It is definitely important to be real with people at times when we can pretend that everything is okay, so to show the realities of COVID restrictions and protocols affecting me at times could be informative to add in.
