Meet Samantha Gauvain, CAPA’s Official Blogger for Fall 2014:

Hi there, my name is Samantha Gauvain. I’m a New Englander studying journalism at Arizona State University in Phoenix. I’ve developed quite an odd accent; let’s call it “Boston-Southwest” and I hope to add an Irish brogue to the mix after I spend the fall semester in Dublin, Ireland.
When I told my friends that Dublin was my study abroad location, someone commented that I would have a hard time finding food I like; I love my vegetables and there’s a saying that the Irish butcher their produce. I am determined to find affordable Dublin cuisine and falsify this myth. Don’t worry, I’ll make a list of my favorites.
I am also always on the hunt for rare or unique books. Hopefully I can fit them all in my suitcase upon my return to the States as Dublin has a fantastic book market and a book festival in November. While I can’t take something as priceless as the Book of Kells home with me, I intend to visit all accessible literary museums and immortalize my experiences in the only way I see fit: through the written word.
A spontaneous traveler, I expect my trip to be a series of pleasant twists and turns with, of course, the wind at my back and the sun shining warmly upon my face.
