Meet Trisha Sanchez, an official CAPA blogger in Shanghai for summer 2018:
University: Champlain College
Major: International Business with a minor in Computer Science
Study abroad location: Shanghai, China
Internship or volunteer placement: Software Development Intern for SparkPad LLC
What are you most excited for during your study abroad semester?
What I'm most excited about for this study abroad semester is that this will be my first time either studying or working in a non-English speaking country. I want to experience a real culture shock and explore a place that's more out of my comfort zone than the other countries I've been to.
What are three of your hobbies and interests?
Hiking, astronomy, and karaoke.
What’s one personal goal you hope to achieve while abroad?
While I am abroad in China, I want to improve my mandarin to a conversational level by the time my internship is over.
What’s one professional goal you hope to achieve while abroad?
As an intern in Shanghai, one of my goals is to learn at least one new programming language before the end of my internship.
What can we look forward to reading about in your posts?
In my blog I'll be discussing subjects ranging from local cultural etiquette to the history of famous sights and landmarks. I look forward sharing all my future experiences while here in Shanghai!
