Brielle SaggeseMeet Brielle Saggese, an official CAPA Instagram TV Vlogger in Florence, Italy for Spring 2019:

University: Indiana University
Major: Media Advertising
Study abroad location: Florence, Italy
Internship or volunteer placement: N/A

What are you most excited for during your study abroad semester?
I am most excited to immerse myself in the Italian way of life! I come from a big, Italian family, but my knowledge on the country doesn’t go past the food (read: pasta…lots of pasta.) I’m hoping a few months under the Tuscan sun will teach me a bit more about my heritage and let me carry some of those lessons back home.

What are three of your hobbies and interests?
I love backpacking, Billy Joel, and listening to Billy Joel while I’m backpacking.

What’s one personal goal you hope to achieve while abroad?
I want to learn how to make a mean ravioli and do some solo traveling.

What’s one professional goal you hope to achieve while abroad?
Since I’m going into creative marketing, I’m excited to push my creative boundaries in class and in my IGTV vlogs.

What can we look forward to seeing in your videos?
You’ll get to learn how I re-imagined my college experience, funded my senior year abroad, and the tips I’ve learned along the way to crossing off my bucket list on a student budget.

Anything else you’d like to say to people reading for the first time?
When I applied to IU, I imagined what my college experience would look like. I’d rush a sorority, join a few clubs, share cheesy bread at 2 am, and question adding a political science minor. Funnily enough, I did all those things. Still, my “college experience” felt like it was coming up short, so I decided to redefine what these four years could look like. Why not do one semester in Paris and one semester in Florence? If you’re even considering studying abroad, I couldn’t recommend it enough. College is definitely what you make of it!
