We’re very excited to introduce and welcome our team of official bloggers and vloggers for fall 2021!

Each student will receive a grant accompanied by an explorer fund while they are abroad to help them generate their stories here on CAPA World. From pre-departure thoughts through their reflection upon their return home, we will watch the stories of these students unfold as they learn about their host country, explore and discover the real city beyond stereotypes and expectations, interact with locals, focus on their academics, and complete internships.

So, who are they and where are they going?

Alyeea Turner, a senior from Michigan State University, takes stock of her remote Ireland-based internship, her career goals, and six takeaways from the entire experience. She also leaves us with some key pieces of advice that'll help you in your own internship journey.

Alyeea, who is currently interning remotely in Ireland, shares an update on her internship and some advice on how to set up a routine that works for you as you balance your responsibilities. She also emphasizes the importance of keeping an open line of communication with your internship supervisor.

Alyeea Turner is eager to dig into the Irish culture and find out what the norms and preferences are as part of her internship this semester. In this post, she compares and contrasts the culture in Ireland and Michigan covering food, music, population demographics, and language.

From pre-departure thoughts through their reflections upon the end of the summer term, we will watch the stories of these students unfold as they learn about their host countries, explore and discover their real global city locations beyond stereotypes and expectations, interact with locals, focus on their academics, and complete internships.

What are you most excited for during your study abroad semester?
The thing that I am most excited about is being able to obtain more work experience related to my major. I am also excited to complete a global internship.
