Hanna is an official CAPA blogger for fall 2017, sharing her story in weekly posts on CAPA World. A Marketing, Finance, and International Business major at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities, Carlson School of Management, she is studying abroad in Sydney this semester.
In this week's post, Hanna reveals what she looks for in an internship and how she's enjoying her experience at House of Brand in Sydney.
It has been three weeks since the CAPA Sydney students began their internships. I have so many emotions and thoughts inside that I think it's time for me to share them with you.
Sooo…I am interning with the House of Brand Group (HOB), a marketing research company. Ever since the first day, I have felt like I was in the right place. In my marketing classes, besides learning about brand image, I also learned the importance of creating corporate culture, which I like to think of as “the brand’s inner personality.” The mission and environment of HOB is exactly a place I could see myself fitting in. Along with the positive atmosphere, I am also fascinated by my coworkers' attitudes and dedication. Working among so many talented and diverse personalities does not only harvest good results for the business, but it also helps me challenge my thinking. Talking to people around me and observing their work and everyday life in general helps me reflect how I can develop and grow.
